The third collection to hit the catwalk during the Fashion Mode group show was that of menswear designer Elson Figueiredo Another subtle but highly stylised selection of ultra wearable garments that would, with their attention to detail and considered design, undoubtedly have mass appeal. Traditional features of men's tailoring such as breast and back pockets are transformed with slivers of gingham binding just one of the edges or tumb sized tabs in the same wholesome pattern sitting on the waistband at the back of a pair of navy slacks. Elbow patches were a notable detail as the migrated to shin level and featured on a grass green jersey long sleeve, blending in as they were made in the same fabric. Whilst watching the show, I could not help but keep noting the precision of his sensitive and delicate detailing whilst maintaining an element of workwear. As a finishing touch and clearly a trend this season, shrunken dogeared collars were a refreshing take on the traditional blue-collar shirt.
