Citing her influence and inspiration from The Silk Road; the trade network between Asia and the Western World, Rohmir’s collection is a conglomorate of styles using the traditional fabrics that were sold through the channel. Luxurious silks, brocades and satins were draped on the mannequins, in bold brights and dazzling metallics. The audience walked in to an entire room filled with exotic decor, right through to the decorative and intricate wall hangings, completely transforming the room into an Eastern delight.
The presentation led you through a journey, with tea and canapes served by models wearing elegant pieces in royal blues, ruby reds and golds combining East and West in an exotic and imaginary journey. Models walked around in the AW12 collection, which consisted of streamlined lace trousers, coats with stiff chinese collars and Rohmir’s take on tailored knitwear- excellently executed with exquisite knitwear techniques allowing for a stunning aesthetic, which embodies the inspiration perfectly.
