Vauxhall Fashion Scout returns with the prestigious International Reception in partnership with Fashion Monitor for another amazing season. With the collections on display and the designers behind them on hand, ready to discuss their inspirations and influences behind their new designs, the International Reception is a fantastic opportunity for International Press and Buyers to come and meet the best in emerging design talent.
We spoke to Editor-at-Large at Fashion Monitor, Hannah White about the what the Fashion Monitor have in store for this season and what she's most looking forward to for S/S13...
So, Hannah, Fashion Monitor has
grown from strength to strength in the past year. What has been your highlight
so far?
Fashion Monitor have
expanded the team this year in preparation for the product developments set to
take place throughout 2012/2013. It is a very exciting time for Fashion
Monitor, we hosted the SS13 Party on Monday 10th September and it was a huge
success and now the team are looking forward to LFW and the Fashion Monitor Style Lounge.
You have
worked with Vauxhall Fashion Scout before- heading into your fourth season
partnering with the VFS International Reception. What is it about VFS that
keeps bringing you back?
Fashion Monitor have
been a partner of Vauxhall Fashion Scout for the past 2 years as well as the
International Reception. It is great to be able to support and promote the
emerging talent that Vauxhall Fashion Scout showcases each season. We work
closely with the Merit Award Winner each season and are extremely proud to be
associated with the event each season.
The International
Press & Buyers Reception is a chance for media and industry professionals
from all over the world to meet designers and see the collections up close. Why
is it so important for Fashion Monitor to be a part of the experience?
We have been
expanding our International offering over the last few years. We have a team in
the US as well as an International Correspondent in our London office to ensure
our contacts, news and events are up to date and reflect the international
fashion world. It is great to have the opportunity to meet with the
international press attending LFW at the International Reception.
What does the
International Reception bring to London Fashion Week that no other event here
does?
The event itself is a
great opportunity for the industry to network and also have direct access to
the designers showcasing. Feedback from previous seasons shows that press and
buyers enjoy the opportunity to talk to the designers in a relaxed atmosphere
whilst the Fashion Monitor and Vauxhall Fashion Scout teams provide
refreshments throughout the morning!

exhibition and catwalk designers has been announced and is now live on the VFS
website. Who are you looking forward to seeing most this season?
I always look forward
to seeing the One’s To Watch as the designers are so talented and it is great
to see how they emerge into the industry season after season. Nova Chiu was a
highlight for me last season so I am keen to see what they have to offer for
SS13. The Graduate Showcase is also a great addition to the spring summer
line-up.
