COLLECTION | Zeynep Kartal

Zeynep Kartal’s sophisticated new collection, inspired by the C.S Lewis classic folktale, Narnia, stays true to her distinctive style of sensual allure, embracing the female form, creating a sense of affluence and feminine confidence.

Lavish temptresses elegantly float down the runway, to a spellbinding melody of enchantment, in true Hollywood Glamour.

Known for using the finest natural fabrics, silk, crepe, laces and leather, Kartal’s designs gleam with extravagance, sheer silk panels and long fish tail panelling flattering the captivating models.

Her use of warm neutral tones contrasting with darker gun metal greys and metallic khaki accolade the opulent silhouettes and cut of the luxurious garments, with striking, subtle, handmade embellishments, sequins and lace, conveying an air of enchantment.

Dewy fresh makeup and slicked back hair complete Kartal’s aim for ravish luxury, empowering the siren models and highlighting her distinct elegant style.

INTERVIEW | J Moon

Designer Jinhee Moon recently launched her fresh London based womenswear label, J MOON, making her definitely One to Watch. Ever since Moon graduated from LCF in 2014 she has been making her mark in the world of fashion. Alongside being named as one of the Fashion Scout Ones to Watch Winners for AW15/16, she was selected as one of the 200 Best Emerging Talents by Vogue Italia. The BA Press Show in 2014 was responsible for her experimental garment design being noticed and to celebrate this she was named the winner of 'The Best Directional Use of Colour and Textile Award'.

Fashion Scout AW15 launched her highly anticipated collection of playful garments which have embraced the wonders of using juxtaposition of texture, colour and shape overall creating a unique aesthetic for her designs. Moon's use of blending frilled, sheer and woolen fabrics create an extravagant 3D effect demonstrating the fact there are just no limitations to the designers wondrous work.

Post show, Jinhee Moon thanked Fashion Scout for the amazing opportunity to showcase her debut collection and was overwhelmed with the response and support she received.

Q: Where did you draw your inspiration from for this collection?

A: My collection drew inspiration from JeJu, an Island in Korea, where female divers called Haenyeo explore the sea. The Haenyeo would dive, without oxygen masks on, to collect seafood from the bottom of the ocean. The clothing the divers wore was beautiful and used straight line cut techniques and embodied an overall simplistic design. I approached and played with their use of geometrics in my designs and added my own 3D aspect. In terms of the mix of colours I used, I drew inspiration from how the divers had a slight blurred vision underwater but could still see lots of beautiful bright colours.

Q: What was the most exciting part of this whole process? From designing to actually showcasing your collection?

A: Every step, for me, was exciting due to the fact it was my debut collection. I found it amazing to see how my finished, wearable and 3D garments actually looked after they started from simple designs.

Q: What are your plans for your next collection?

A: (Laughs) Well, I have only just finished this one! However, I definitely will continue to mix fabrics and experiment with patchwork, similar to how I have worked previously. I will keep developing and testing new techniques until I discover new outcomes.

COLLECTION | Soojin Lee

Soojin Lee , the South Korean designer who’s worked with famous designers such as Alexander McQueen , Hussein Chalayan and Emilio De La Morena. Last years autumn/winter collection consisted of blues and denim. However this year the Central Saints Martins graduate went for for a completely different approach.

The show started with several coats embossed with camouflaged print. This gave the collection a nostalgic but contemporary feel. The palette of the collection consisted of browns , burgundy , orange. Outfits ideal for a soldiers wife during the war. The green military style coats were very formal with matching bottoms dresses that had a casual and relaxed fit. Whereas the evening wear consisted of loads of patterns , pleats and folds.

She incorporated all the prints in certain evening dresses which made colours stand out. Many of the dresses in the collection were made of silk which draped effortlessly on the silhouette. The floral dresses seemed to be the perfect spring to autumn transition pieces.

ROHMIR | Collection

An old song started to play and, one after another, “the dolls” made their way out on the runway. Classic and elegant hair together with thick, long eyelashes reproduced the timeless beauty of dolls perfectly.

Fluffy silver dresses mixed with bright pink tones walked out first, followed by black and red floor-length gowns and accompanied with glamour jewelries, flower-printed fabrics and fury accessories. The use of quality French tweed and lace, which earned it the designation of “elegant, glamourous and timeless French fashion”, gave the feeling of pure lines and a sensual and vintage look.

Obsession, affection, temptation...these are the feelings we have when we think about dolls and Olga succeeded bringing them into life.

The show closed with a kind of “old cartoons” song that evocates the little child silently residing inside of us and made the whole atmosphere absolutely perfect.
